Turtle Trails shows two baby sea turtles scuttling down the beach toward the surf, immediately after they hatched from their eggs

Florida's sea turtle nests result in hundreds of hatchlings. If you're in the right place, at the right time, you can watch the turtle babies make their run to the ocean.

I've been on the beach when the baby sea turtles scuttle down to the surf. A hatchling's journey to the surf is precarious. They go as fast as they can, making their way around hazards, ducking from predators, and the lucky ones make it to the water. If people are around, they tend to be protective of the little turtles; they wave away the gulls, and hover over them to make sure they make it to the waves safely.
