Secret Keys

This is my latest painting, which I've called the "Secret Keys." In real life, these keys are huge antique master keys kept all together on a heavy metal ring. Can you imagine having to lug them around in the old days?

The keys have been in my home at least as far back as when I was a teenager, when Mom and I dabbled with a little antique store in the farmlands outside of Philadelphia (Trappe, PA). We sold stuff we'd had around the old house, and bought and sold antiques. I've kept the most interesting little things from those days - not worth much money, but just so cool. I'm so happy to finally have found a use for these keys - a painting subject! I think I'll use them in future work, as well.
