I found the teapot in a thrift store, the sugar packet was in my pocket after a visit to a restaurant, and the fern frond is from my garden. I set up the still life underneath my easel, so I could view it from overhead. This view is quite graphic, with defined shapes - circles, squares, and rectangles.
