Fall -- the best is the changing of the leaves and the baking of the apple cakes. I found this bundt pan at the thrift store and the leaves out in front of the house.

I really work at composition. I moved things around an inch here, an inch there. I tried different shapes. I moved the bundt pan off the page.

Arrangements might look easy and careless, yet they are often the most painstaking part of a still life painting. And sometimes the objects are uncooperative. Here, the leaves kept moving on their own, and I had to go back and press them down onto tape keep them where they belonged.
